Week 1 - Shutter Speeds

I had so much fun learning how to use the Shutter Speed dial on my Nikon D90.  I was able to capture a child jumping in the air, swinging on the swing set, and sliding down the slide.

My friend is actually going pretty fast on her bike but I was able to freeze the picture on a fast shutter speed.

  1. I love how you can freeze the pictures! I need to learn how to do this so I can capture better pictures of my kids running and playing!

  2. Robin, I am so impressed with how much you have learned ... Every picture I take looks like it was taken in a tunnel ... Would sooooooooo love to buy a nice camera & learn to master picture taking. Your are simply amazing !

  3. Great picture. I love how crystal clear, colorful and vibrant the pictures are on any of the setting that you have used. Whether focusing on one subject or background too the pictures are crisps. I think I'm going to have to go a head and splurge on a "serious photography" camera too, because I love taking picture and the Nikon camera that my husband bought me last year for my birthday is a little annoying sometimes. LOL. TFS. Lai

I love it so much! I sit (daycare) for a photgrapher and she has been helping me along. I love what you've learned so far...your pictures are fantastic! I'm going to follow you to learn along with you....very seriously thinking of taking the online class your doing!

  5. I wish you would give us the lesson for each week so we can learn too. Are you in manual or shutter priority for these. If manual then how did you adjust the other settings after the speed? Help!!!
